Bulk Entry: Record Deliveries for All Customers at Once (Save Hours Every Week)
Entering today's delivery for one customer at a time works fine when you have 10 customers. It becomes a real time-sink when you have 50, or when you're catching up on 3 missed days at once. MilkMate's Bulk Entry screen exists for exactly this — record deliveries for every customer, across multiple dates and shifts, in one sitting.
When to use Bulk Entry instead of one-by-one entry
- Your daily round: most customers get the same quantity every day — recording all of them together is faster than opening each customer's page one at a time.
- Catching up on missed days: if you didn't get to enter deliveries for the last 2-3 days, Bulk Entry lets you fill in multiple dates in one go instead of navigating back through each day separately.
- Both shifts at once: if morning and evening quantities are usually the same, you can save both shifts together instead of doing two separate passes.
How Bulk Entry works, step by step
1. Open Bulk Entry
From your dashboard, open the Bulk Entry screen (also reachable from a single customer's page if you only want to fix that one customer's history).
2. Pick the dates
The last 7 days show as quick-tap chips at the top — today is always included. Need to go further back or select a custom range? Tap the dashed "More" chip to open the full date-range picker.
3. Pick the shift — morning, evening, or both
Toggle Morning and/or Evening. If you select both, the quantities you enter get applied to both shifts for every selected date.
4. Review the pre-filled list
Below the header, every linked customer appears with their usual product and default quantity already filled in — MilkMate pulls this from each customer's saved delivery preference, so most of the time you don't need to type anything at all. Just scan the list and adjust anyone whose quantity is different today.
5. Save once
One tap saves entries for every customer, across every date and shift you selected — dozens of individual entries created in a single action. Re-running Bulk Entry for the same customers and dates updates the existing entries instead of duplicating them, so it's safe to correct a mistake by just re-entering it.
A practical example
You're back from a 3-day trip and nobody recorded deliveries while you were away. Instead of opening 40 customers × 3 days × 2 shifts = potentially 240 separate entries one at a time:
- Open Bulk Entry
- Select all 3 missed dates from the chip row
- Select both Morning and Evening
- Scan the pre-filled list — most customers took their usual quantity, so nothing to change
- Adjust the few customers who were on leave or took extra that week
- Save once
What would have taken an hour of individual entries takes a few minutes.
Frequently asked questions
What is Bulk Entry in MilkMate?
Bulk Entry is a screen that lets you record milk deliveries for all your customers at once, across multiple dates and shifts, instead of entering each customer's delivery one at a time.
Does Bulk Entry know each customer's usual quantity?
Yes. Each customer's default product and quantity is pre-filled from their saved delivery preference, so you typically only need to adjust the few customers whose order was different that day.
What happens if I run Bulk Entry twice for the same date?
It updates the existing entries for that customer, date, and shift instead of creating duplicates — safe to re-run if you need to correct a mistake.
Does Bulk Entry skip customers on leave automatically?
Customers marked on leave for a selected date, or whose bill for that month is already paid, are flagged in the list so you don't accidentally add an entry that shouldn't be there.
